Operations Analyst

Job Description Sun Life U.S. is one of the largest providers of employee and government benefits. The role focuses on managing insurance contracts and ensuring alignment with underwriting, TPA work‑arounds, and client specifications. How You Will Contribute Ensure new and renewal contracts match approved underwriting and TPA work‑arounds, including dates, claim basis, rates, number of lives, fees, addresses, and other details. Customize contracts according to TPA work‑arounds and what was sold (e.g., sub‑accounts for multiple accounts with differing claim basis, rates, names). Set up the claims system (CMS) to guarantee accurate information such as deductibles, claim basis, fees, and contact details, and configure Compass for billing. Verify CMS data for accuracy, ensuring payee and banking information is correct and contacts are up to date. Review previous year’s contracts to identify rate tier changes. Update Compass with new rate tiers or Health Navigator additions when required. Administer contract revisions when notified by underwriting. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring With You Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 2–3 years of experience in the financial services industry. Preferably 2 years of experience in stop‑loss claims and/or underwriting. Ability to comprehend and interpret client plan documents and stop‑loss policies. Broad knowledge of stop‑loss insurance products and processes. Creative problem‑solving skills for complex or non‑routine issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members to achieve departmental goals. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision‑making capabilities. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization and with external TPA administrators. Commitment to a workplace environment that fosters mutual respect, cooperation, and information sharing. Strong PC proficiency. Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals. Knowledge of company computer systems and products is a plus. Salary $49,200 – $66,400 per year. The range is competitive nationwide and is based on skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. An annual discretionary incentive award may also be earned based on individual and business performance.
