Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long Term Care/SNF Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Long Term Care License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: LTC experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Long Term Care. The facility provides care for residents with a variety of diagnoses, including heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. The nurse in this role will act as charge nurse, administer medications, and perform wound care. Nurse-to-resident ratios are 1:10 during the day and 1:19 at night. There are no IVs or titratable drips, and no telemetry monitoring is conducted on this unit. Nurses are not required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab, as this facility does not have rehab beds. Physician availability after hours is by phone on-call. An interdisciplinary team is not present. Physical therapy is provided as needed, and a social worker is available as a designee. Respiratory therapy services are not on-site 24/7. Oxygen therapy equipment includes portable concentrators. The pharmacy is off-site, and a medication dispensing system is in place. Shifts are 12 hours, from 7 AM to 7 PM, with no blocked scheduling or self-scheduling options. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, with holiday shifts expected on alternating major holidays. There is no call or standby requirement, and there is no floating to other units. Scrub color is not specified, but staff must be clean and presentable. The unit-specific orientation will consist of 2-3 shifts. Candidates should be mindful of the radius rule, which restricts employment with associated facilities. Requests for time off must be submitted upfront, with limited days allowed during the contract period. The facility maintains a cancellation policy where shifts may be canceled under certain conditions. Charting is conducted using an electronic medical record system. A BSN degree is not required for this position.
