Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Trauma / Ortho / Surgical)

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Trauma, Orthopedic, and Surgical unit with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for a high volume of post-operative transplant, Whipple, spine, orthopedic joint, and trauma patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry using Philips monitoring systems; manage patients on BiPAP and CPAP
• Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Float to Medical/Surgical or Telemetry units at alternate campuses as needed; fulfill weekend requirement of 3 shifts per 4-week period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
• Must demonstrate competency in sterile field technique; SIMs Lab assessment on Day 1 of orientation is pass/fail

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-operative transplant or complex surgical patients (e.g., Whipple procedure)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience with BiPAP and CPAP management
