Registered Nurse, Transport Team

Registered Nurse – Critical Care Transport (0.9FTE Night), Everett Shift starts at 5 pm or 7 pm (12‑hour shift). This position is based out of Everett. Responsibilities Responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities, including basic patient care and advanced life support measures required to stabilize critically ill or injured patients. Must demonstrate proficiency in neonatal and pediatric critical care nursing and knowledge of adaptations necessary for patient management in ambulance or aircraft during transit. The Transport RN must be familiar with ambulance and aircraft operating procedures and safety practices. Functions within the scope of practice as defined by Washington State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s Hospital policies and procedures. The Transport RN serves as a team lead within the mobile transport team and may provide supervision and delegation to other RN, respiratory therapists, or EMT members of the mobile transport team. Must be available for call. Assists in meeting Seattle Children’s strategic goals by incorporating initiatives to support the strategic plans into daily work (e.g., Continuous Improvement and Innovation, ART). Position may be based at Main Campus or one of the off‑campus bases within the Seattle Children’s system or other sites based on volume and efficiency. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Minimum of three (3) years recent Critical Care Transport, pediatric critical care (PICU, CICU or other relevant unit), Emergency Department (ED) or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience, at a 6.FTE or greater. Required Credentials Current Washington State RN License Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – if not currently held, must be obtained within 3 months of start date BLS for Healthcare Providers required before start date; alternatively PEARS or PALS accepted in lieu of BLS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – if not currently held, must be obtained within 3 months of start date Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) – if not currently held, must be obtained within 6 months of start date Completion of an approved trauma course within 6 months of start date For RN’s performing moderately complex point‑of‑care testing—a copy of a diploma or transcript of highest academic achievement must be on record with Human Resources upon hire (including foreign equivalency if trained outside U.S.) Required documentation for travel (government documents allowing travel to/from U.S. and WA Enhanced ID) must be maintained and available during all shifts and on all transports Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Neonatal CCRN or RNC certification Specialty certification (e.g., C-PNT, CTRN, CFRN) Compensation Range $51.60 – $91.30 per hour (calculated based on full‑time employment of 2080 hours per year). Offers may vary within this range based on equity, skill, experience and expertise.
