Senior Heavy Equipment MechanicLocation: Billings, MT, US, 59101POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to rebuild major components for mechanical drive heavy equipment trucks including but not limited to rear wheel groups, front corner groups, brake assembles and differentials.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety – conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.Adhere to all H-E Parts company policies and proceduresMust maintain a good attendance record and maintain the highest level of professional conduct.Work with as a team to assist with or teardown large and small components and assembliesClean and prep parts for inspectionMove components by operating overhead cranes, jib hoists and pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.Prepare and secure parts for transportation by throughout the shop areaMaintain a level of cleanliness throughout your work areas and the shop for good housekeeping and safetyPerform NDT testingRequired to fill out inspection documents completely, i.e. Complete all inspection packet forms and upload all needed pictures to proper files for quotes and estimatesRead maintenance manuals and drawings.Use material analyzer to detect coatings and identify parent materialLead team projects and help with training level I and II Technicians sharing knowledge and skillsPerform all paint and wash bay functionsProficient at using and reading micrometers and other instruments for inspectionsPerform all process on sub-assembliesAssemble major components with limited oversightResolve small or routine discrepancies and bring high level problems to supervisor for resolutions.Learn to use the ERP systemAble and willing to serve as relief supervisor as neededDirects the work of other technicians and provides training as neededMaintains high quality standard on all tasks and meets time requirements on assigned jobsWilling to take on new tasks (i.e. new product(s) lines)Proficient in the complete teardown/inspection processesReview for accuracy all inspection packets before turning in to supervisorUnderstands processes of the remanufacturing of partsWorks with Engineering and Customers as needed for optimal product productionWillingness to travel to mine sights to repair or troubleshoot our componentsDemonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department and shopPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.At least four-year mechanical work experience or equivalent education is required.Ability to lift up to 50# is required.MSHA Certification preferred.Previous experience in heavy equipment repair; mechanical aptitude, and basic understanding of precision measuring tools preferred.
