Think Outside the Box Join a Company Thats Changing the Game At SmartStop Self Storage we believe in embracing change driving innovation and elevating every team members journey About Us SmartStop Self Storage NYSE SMA is one of the largest self storage operators in North America and a publicly traded real estate investment trust Headquartered in sunny Ladera Ranch California SmartStop owns or manages more than 460 self storage properties across 35 US states Washington DC and 4 provinces in Canada comprising over 270000 units and more than 35 million rentable square feet Our fully integrated team of more than 1000 self storage professionals is dedicated to delivering an exceptional customer experience and driving long term value for our customers investors and communities SmartStops commitment to service excellence and workplace culture has been recognized with multiple industry honors including being named to Newsweeks Best Customer Service Award 2021 2023 and 2024 earning the Reputation 800 Award 2022 2023 and being recognized as a Top Workplace in Orange County 2022 2024 an award based entirely on employee feedback regarding our culture leadership and values Were growing fast and we want you to grow with us Salary Salary between 95000 110000 depending on experience annual discretionary bonus Location and Working Hours Location Hybrid once fully trained Monday & Friday are work from home; Tuesday through Thursday are in office at our beautiful corporate office in Ladera Ranch CA Job Title Accounting Supervisor Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Accounting the Accounting Supervisor oversees the Property Accountants workflow and processes Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Oversees and reviews monthly financial statement packets from Property Accountants Works with the property Accountants and Operations staff to resolve outstanding bank reconciliation issues Assists Director of Accounting in monitoring deposit verifications Reviews and monitors the properties for various aspects including but not limited to reviewing loan escrow activities ties GL balances to loan statements; compiles loan covenant reporting requirements; manages property insurance claim issues; other items as assigned Assists with dash report auditing and processing monthly uploads; audits new store set ups Reviews sales tax packages; streamlines sales tax reporting; provides quarterly sales tax rate updates Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required Minimum 5 years of direct experience required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Mastery of accounting and tax preparation software Strong analytical and problem solving abilities Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams Must be a team player Benefits Competitive salary Health insurance including medical dental and vision Life and Disability Insurances Paid Time Off Generous Holiday Schedule 401k matching with no waiting period Employee assistance program Referral program A great team Lead Together #J-18808-Ljbffr SmartStop Self Storage
