Amentum is NASA's largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.We are looking for an IT Technical Specialist to join the JETS II contract with Barrios, a teammate company.ResponsibilitiesThe IT Technical Specialist will:Demonstrate patience and perseverance, with the ability to remain calm and professional when working through challenging technical issues.Strong communication skills are essential.Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and issues to nontechnical employees, management, and other stakeholders.Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple issues effectively while maintaining a high level of service.Collaborative team player who is willing to ask for assistance when needed and working cooperatively with others is essential.The candidate should also be comfortable communicating technical issues and recommendations to management in a clear and professional manner.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education/Experience/Skills:Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent certification in a related area or experience in the field, plus five (5) years of experience.Basic knowledge of networking, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.Experience with user/account administration.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.Experience with user account administration and access management.Excellent communication and customer-service skills.Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical problems.General cybersecurity knowledge.Familiarity with remote-support and ticketing systems, ServiceNow experience preferred.Obtain and maintain a LOC50.CompTIA A+ — foundational IT/support skills.CompTIA Network+ — networking.CompTIA Security+ — cybersecurity fundamentals.Microsoft certifications.Preferences:3+ years of hands-on IT support/administration experience.Technical degree or equivalent on-the-job experience.Ability to pass random drug tests.Ability to pass a thorough security clearance background check.Physically able to lift and move 30 lb. pieces of equipment on a frequent basis.Walk between multiple buildings.Essential Requirements:Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Work may involve sitting for extended periods.May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.Don't miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!Barrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
