Social Media Marketing Specialist

Hospitality & Events Industry Chicago, IL (Hybrid | Majority Remote) 25-30 Hours Per Week | W2 Contract Are you passionate about social media, content creation, and storytelling? Do you love being out in the city capturing engaging moments, experiences, and events? Our client in the hospitality and events industry is seeking a Social Media Content Creator to support a busy in-house marketing team during an exciting period of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, hands-on content creator who enjoys shooting, editing, publishing, and engaging with audiences across social platforms. This role offers significant flexibility, the chance to work on high-visibility campaigns and events across Chicago, and strong potential for extension or future conversion. Location Candidates must be local to the Chicago area and available to travel throughout the city to capture original content and support live event coverage. Hybrid work environment Majority remote (80-90%) W2 Contract 25-30 hours per week Strong potential for extension and possible long-term opportunities Compensation: $25-$33/hour (flexibility for exceptional candidates) What You’ll Do Content Creation & Storytelling Capture original photo and video content throughout Chicago Create engaging short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms Edit videos using mobile-first editing tools, with CapCut preferred Develop visually compelling content aligned with brand objectives and current social trends Event & Live Coverage Support live coverage of events, activations, and community experiences Capture real-time content and quickly publish social updates Help showcase unique experiences, attractions, and citywide initiatives Social Media Management Write engaging social media captions and platform-specific copy Assist with community management across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn Monitor messages, comments, and audience engagement Support giveaways, creator partnerships, and influencer outreach efforts Help expand the brand's presence across social platforms Contribute ideas for new content formats and audience engagement tactics Assist with the rollout of new social tools and features Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Experience creating content for social media brands, organizations, agencies, or personal channels Strong mobile photography and videography skills Experience editing short-form video content Proficiency with CapCut or similar editing platforms Experience using Canva for social media graphics and creative assets Excellent writing and social copywriting skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting hospitality, tourism, events, entertainment, lifestyle, or consumer-facing brands Experience covering live events and creating real-time social content Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging social platforms Passion for content trends, visual storytelling, and audience engagement Why This Opportunity?
