New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal components, industrial equipment, marine vessels, and fabricated assemblies in a fast-paced machine shop and field service environment. Our New Orleans-based machine shops perform everything from small-scale mechanical and welding repairs to large industrial fabrications and marine conversions.

Essential Duties:

- Perform surface preparation including sandblasting, grinding, cleaning, and masking of metal components and structures.

- Apply industrial coatings including primers, epoxies, and specialty paint systems using airless spray equipment and conventional application methods.

- Inspect prepared surfaces and completed coatings to ensure proper adhesion, thickness, and finish quality.

- Mix coatings according to manufacturer specifications and maintain accurate application procedures.

- Work on a variety of commercial, industrial, and marine repair projects ranging from small mechanical repairs to large-scale fabrications and vessel conversions.

- Assist with coating applications for boilers, pumps, pressure vessels, piping systems, structural steel, and fabricated assemblies.

- Safely operate and maintain painting equipment while following all safety policies and PPE requirements.

- Collaborate with welders, machinists, fabricators, pipefitters, and other skilled trades to complete projects efficiently.

- Support field service work at customer facilities, industrial plants, commercial properties, docks, and marine locations as needed.

- Participate in 24-hour emergency response projects when required.

Requirements/Skills:

- Minimum of two (2) years of industrial painting, blasting, or coating application experience.

- Experience operating airless spray systems and applying industrial coating systems.

- Knowledge of proper surface preparation methods and coating standards; SSPC/NACE experience is preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and coating specifications.

- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, marine, or heavy equipment environments preferred.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred but not required.

- Willingness to work either day or evening shift and respond to emergency call-outs when needed

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.

- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.

- Capable of wearing required PPE, including respirators, protective suits, gloves, and eye/hearing protection.

- Ability to work in confined spaces and around industrial equipment when required.
