JANITOR (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Summary Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in school district facilities, performing heavy cleaning duties such as floor cleaning, wall washing, and sanitizing surfaces while following state, federal, and county guidelines. Location Richland School District Two – 9800 Dunbarton Drive, Columbia, SC 29223 (Openings available at other district locations). Schedule Full‑time and part‑time schedules; Monday through Friday, hours may vary. Schedule details are discussed during interview. Requirements Prior janitorial experience preferred. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position safely and effectively. Compensation Pay range: $12.00–$14.00 per hour. Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures. Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and returns items to correct placement. Sanitizes assigned areas using approved materials and equipment; follows the eight‑step cleaning procedure. Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment. Seeks out areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete tasks. Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor. Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state, and county guidelines. Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet. Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others. Performs other duties as assigned.
