In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.# **What you will be doing****Key Responsibilities*** Serve as a pre-award resource to investigators and departmental staff regarding sponsor requirements, proposal strategy, and compliance considerations.* Coordinate complex proposal timelines and independently manage competing sponsor deadlines to ensure timely and compliant submissions.* Work closely with investigators to develop competitive and administratively compliant proposal packages from concept through submission.* Manage the administrative development, review, and submission of sponsored research proposals and progress reports in accordance with sponsor deadlines and institutional requirements.* Review and interpret funding opportunity announcements (FOAs/NOFOs/RFPs) and communicate key administrative and compliance requirements to investigators and research teams.* Develop and review detailed proposal budgets and budget justifications, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and institutional policies.* Ensure accuracy and completeness of proposal packages, including regulatory approvals, subrecipient documentation, biosketches, Other Support, facilities and resources, and ancillary administrative components.* Coordinate and submit Just-in-Time (JIT) materials, prior approval requests, and other administrative actions in accordance with sponsor and institutional requirements.* Provide guidance regarding NIH policies and systems, including eRA Commons, ASSIST, SciENcv, xTRACT/xTRAIN, Grants.gov, ProposalCentral, and other electronic research administration platforms.* Provide guidance and onboarding support to investigators, research staff, and junior administrators regarding proposal preparation and sponsor submission requirements.* Maintain accurate internal records and tracking systems related to proposal submissions, awards, and compliance documentation.* Collaborate effectively with investigators, departmental administrators, compliance offices, finance teams, and external sponsors to resolve administrative and operational issues in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.* Participate in special projects and other institutional initiatives as assigned.**Education & Experience Requirements****Required Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.* Minimum 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in sponsored research administration within an academic medical center, university, or research institution.* Demonstrated expertise in NIH grants administration and federal proposal submission systems.* Strong knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), NIH policies, and research compliance requirements.* Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex proposal portfolios and competing sponsor deadlines.* Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with investigators, departmental administrators, and administrative stakeholders in a service-oriented research environment.* Proven ability to proactively identify issues, recommend solutions, and manage complex administrative challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.* Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain responsiveness in a fast-paced environment.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience supporting training grants, multi-project proposals, consortium/subaward agreements, and complex federal funding mechanisms.* Experience with ASSIST, SciENcv, xTRACT/xTRAIN, Grants.gov, ProposalCentral, eBRAP, Workday and related electronic research administration systems.* Experience working within a centralized sponsored programs or research administration office at a mid-sized academic medical center or research institution.
