The Stevedore/Heavy Equipment Operator works closely with port supervisors, crane operators, and labor crews to ensure safe, timely, and efficient cargo operations./ppKey Responsibilities:/pulliOperate ship cranes, hold loaders, and trimmers to safely and efficiently load, unload, and move cargo at port facilities and job sites./liliTravel to multiple job sites as required./liliWork closely with crane operators, dock crews, and supervisors to coordinate material handling and workflow./liliInspect equipment and tools, including loaders, hold loaders, and trimmers, before and after use to ensure safe working condition; report any defects or maintenance needs./liliFollow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)./liliAssist in securing and organizing cargo on trailers, docks, or storage areas./liliCommunicate with supervisors and team members regarding operational status, delays, or safety concerns./liliPerform general labor tasks as needed to support cargo operations./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)./lili2+ years of experience operating loaders, hold loaders, trimmers, or other heavy equipment and handling cargo./liliValid drivers license and a clean driving record./liliOSHA 10 or 30 certification./liliCurrent TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card./li/ulpPreferred Experience:/pulliExperience in port or stevedoring operations./liliBasic knowledge of rigging, cargo handling and securing procedures, and basic equipment operation./liliExperience with bulk materials, aggregates, or breakbulk cargo./li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and operating equipment./liliAbility to climb ladders, access cargo areas, operate loaders, hold loaders, and trimmers safely./liliUse of required PPE, including hard hat, gloves, safety vest, and steel-toe boots./li/ulpWork Environment:/pulliField-based role primarily located at port facilities, with travel to additional job sites as needed./liliFast-paced environment requiring strong situational awareness, teamwork, and consistent adherence to safety procedures./liliOutdoor, field-based work with exposure to all weather conditions./liliRegular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment./li/ulpAdditional Requirements:/pulliMust be authorized to work in the United States./liliEmployment may be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening, and/or driving record review./li/ulpCompensation Benefits:/pulliPaid Time Off/liliComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance/liliAdditional coverage through AFLAC/liliCompany paid holidays/lili401(k) retirement plan with up to 8% company match/liliShort-Term and Long-Term Disability/liliGroup Life Insurance/liliEmployee Assistance Fund/liliEmergency Service Worker Bonus/liliEmployee Referral Bonus/li/ulpEqual Opportunity Employer/ppCarver Companies is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status under federal, state, or local laws./p/div
