Quality Engineer

Quality EngineerReporting to the Quality Manager, performs Quality Engineering functions for all production programs.Primarily responsible for performing Quality Engineering functions:Have knowledge and understanding of IATF 16949.Prepare PPAP documentation, Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA's etc.Establish and participate in gauge design, Gage R & R, etc.Provide manufacturing plant support for Quality issues.Determine disposition of product through interpretations of established acceptance standards.Responsible for containment areas: Disposition/MRB/Sample.Assist in coordination of annual layout activities.Provide Print review/interpretation, CMM support as needed.Perform Layered Audits.Update/ maintain Quality documentation, operational procedures & forms, etc.Leading and/or being a member of internal Corrective Action teams.Provide supervision to Quality personnel including timecard approval, scheduling, and performance reviews.Academic/Educational Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field3-5 years or more of automotive experienceMust be familiar with automotive supplier OEM PortalsInternal Auditor Certification strongly preferred (IATF 16949)Must be proficient in GR&R studies, CMM, SPC, GD&T, APQP, FMEA and PPAP.Required Skills/Experience:Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact and communicate at all levels of organization, and with customer engineering and/or management.Ability to effectively apply problem solving / continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing principles.Strong manufacturing background.Strong organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
