Production Tech/ Composite Tech

Job Description Job Description Shifts Available: 1st Shift – M-F 6:00am-2:30pm 2nd Shift – M-F 4:00pm-12:30am Summary / Objective The Production Technician works in all areas of Production which includes, working with composite structures, producing complex assemblies, tape wrapping, and compression molding. Duties and Responsibilities Complete work orders/travelers when they are scheduled to be finalized. Utilizing ISO 9001/AS9100 standards. Understand the production process in the various areas which include tape wrapping, cutting, and compression molding Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Set up, operate, or tend metal molding, casting, or coremaking machines to mold metal parts or products. Smooth and clean inner surfaces of molds, using brushes, scrapers, air hoses, or grinding wheels, and fill imperfections with refractory material. Adjust equipment and workpiece holding fixtures, such as mold frames, tubs, and cutting tables, to ensure proper functioning. Mix and measure compounds or weigh premixed compounds, and dump them into machine tubs, cavities, or molds. Inspect metal, plastic, or composite products. Adjust temperature controls of ovens. Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences. Maintain production or processing equipment. Use of upper body mobility, such as bending, use of arms and hands, and standing for the majority of the time. Department Specific/Non-essential Functions Other duties as assigned.
