Personal Injury Senior Associate Attorney - Litigation

Summary Our client is a plaintiff-focused personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Personal Injury Senior Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The firm represents clients in complex personal injury matters and is looking for a seasoned litigator who can independently manage cases from pre‑litigation through trial. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience, strong case management abilities, and proven first or second‑chair trial experience. This attorney will be responsible for developing litigation strategies, handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials. Responsibilities Manage personal injury cases through all stages of litigation, from case evaluation through trial. Conduct case investigations, evaluate liability, and develop effective litigation strategies. Communicate with clients regarding medical treatment, case updates, and litigation strategy. Manage case files, prepare demand letters, and negotiate claims and settlements. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses. Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, and expert witnesses. Handle discovery disputes and participate in meet‑and‑confer efforts. Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and court hearings. Prepare cases for trial and assist with all aspects of trial proceedings. Serve as first or second chair during jury trials, including jury selection, examinations, and case presentation. Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to effectively manage litigation matters. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active California Bar license in good standing. Minimum 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience required. Plaintiff‑side personal injury experience strongly preferred. First‑chair or second‑chair trial experience required. Experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations. Strong knowledge of California personal injury litigation procedures. Ability to independently manage a complex caseload. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Strong courtroom presence and advocacy abilities.
