This role is essential for supporting experienced tax professionals, providing hands‑on learning, and helping interns develop foundational knowledge of tax planning and compliance through real client work. The TL;DR Role: Internship Type: Full-time (5 days / 40 hours per week) Location: In-person Destin, FL Team: Tax and Wealth Advisory Teams, reporting to experienced tax professionals Mission: Assist in delivering comprehensive tax planning and compliance services, primarily for high net worth individuals and various entity types. Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, specialized tax planning and preparation software What You’ll Actually Do Tax Preparation: Assist with the preparation of various tax returns, income tax projects, estimated tax vouchers, and extension forms under professional guidance. File Management: Organize and maintain client tax files, electronic records, and provide administrative support for billing and client service needs. Document Review: Prepare supporting schedules, reconcile client information, and review tax documents for accuracy and completeness prior to preparation and filing. Professional Development: Participate in training sessions, associate meetings, and other development opportunities to build technical tax knowledge and understand firm processes. Research and Compliance: Conduct basic tax research and assist with gathering information for inquiries from taxing authorities and related to tax law changes. The Must-Haves Background: Entry‑Level, pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date within 24 months of the internship start. Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities. Skills: Strong aptitude for working with numbers, basic knowledge of accounting or tax principles, high level of confidentiality, strong organizational and time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
