Responsibilities Perform general avionics support on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels and components and repair work. Troubleshoot and evaluate avionics and aircraft systems when designated. Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components as assigned. Conduct aircraft movement and verify system performance. Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling to support operations. Collaborate with customers in project management, pricing, and customer support roles. Work independently on projects and communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, and reading). Utilize basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Electronics or avionics factory training is preferred. 1+ years of experience in avionics repair or installations is preferred. Requirements & Capabilities A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory. Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. Ability to work with customers and perform duties with minimal supervision. Attend work as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments; maintain reliable transportation. Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and follow safety rules. Physical & Mental Requirements Lifts up to 50 lbs; routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting; repetitive motions with arms and hands; standing for long periods. Climb ladders and stairs; work in small restricted areas; basic computer skills. Understand and implement regulations; troubleshoot, evaluate, and perform functional tests for avionics and instrument systems; work professionally with others. Supervision & Working Conditions Work under the supervision of the Avionics Team Leader. Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations; some outdoor work during aircraft runs; varied positions around aircraft. Equipment Used Personal hand tools provided by the mechanic; pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment; jacks, stands, lifts; tugs, power carts; crimpers, soldering irons, heat guns; PCs and work orders. Compensation & Benefits The hourly rate generally ranges between $30.00 – $58.00, with variation based on location, experience, and performance. Additional compensation includes shift differentials, a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match, and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
