Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diesel & Gas Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of our heavy equipment fleet, including both diesel- and gasoline-powered machines. The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

•    Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel and gas-powered engines to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

•    Conduct repairs and component replacements on heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction machinery

•    Carry out all scheduled preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication

•    Inspect equipment before and after use to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns

•    Maintain accurate service records and document all maintenance and repair work performed

•    Order and manage parts inventory as needed to support maintenance operations

•    Collaborate with equipment operators and project managers to minimize downtime

•    Ensure all work meets applicable safety standards and company policies

•    Respond promptly to field breakdowns and emergency repair needs

•    Travel to jobsites throughout the state of Florida as required to support active projects and equipment needs

Required Qualifications

•    Proven experience as a mechanic working on diesel and gasoline engines

•    Hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy construction equipment

•    Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

•    Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools

•    Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documents

•    Valid driver's license; CDL or equipment operator experience a plus

•    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment

•    Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA standards

  • Travel is required - Equipment is on jobsites throughout the state of Florida and repairs and done one the jobsite. Truck allowance or a vehicle will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Vocational/technical training or certification in diesel mechanics or a related field

•    Experience with hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics

•    Familiarity with manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere,Volvo or similar

•    Previous experience in a construction or contracting environment
