The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of biomedical equipment used in healthcare settings. This role requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with clinical staff and other departments.What You Will Do:Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on complex biomedical equipment and systems.Install, calibrate, and validate new medical devices and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on the proper use and care of biomedical equipment.Collaborate with vendors, manufacturers, and other healthcare professionals to resolve equipment issues and ensure optimal performance.Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory guidelines such as FDA, Joint Commission, and OSHA.Assist in the development and implementation of equipment management programs and policies.Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency repair requests.QualificationsAssociate's degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician, with at least 2 years at an advanced or senior level.Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification preferred.Strong knowledge of medical device technology, electronics, and healthcare regulations.Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in various clinical environments.Must be authorized to work in the United States.Must pass Federal background and drug screen.Accountability – takes ownership of assigned work and follows items through to completionCommunication – clearly expresses thoughts and ideas both in written and verbal communications, provides timely informationFinancial Acumen – Considers financial impact of all decisionsIntegrity – Can admit mistakes, is direct and truthfulCustomer Service – demonstrates a "customer-first" mentality, focused on meeting the needs of customers and captures feedback to make improvementsPriority Setting – Prioritizes assigned schedules and workloadTeam Building – Mentors newer technicians, facilitates clear communication amongst the team, demonstrates care and respect for co-workers and colleaguesRegulatory – knows the various accrediting agencies (TJC, DNV, CAP, DOH) and how the Medical Equipment Management Plan compliesMaintain a safe working environment for self and others if they come in contact within the biomed area in accordance with the facility's policiesMust follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devicesOntime completion of safety trainings assignmentsMust have sensory ability to distinguish hot & cold ranges of temperature, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish colorsMust be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds routinelyClassification: FLSA: Non-Exempt or ExemptEEO Statement MultiMedical Systems provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
