Surface Prep Technician - Epoxy Flooring

Summit Service Solutions is looking for a reliable and motivated Surface Prep Technician to support commercial and industrial flooring projects throughout the Berks, Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Philly areas.

This position focuses on concrete grinding, surface preparation, and installation of epoxy and other industrial floor coatings . The ideal candidate has experience with concrete, flooring, surface preparation, construction, or a related trade and is comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and floor preparation equipment.

Experience with epoxy flooring, concrete grinding, concrete polishing, or industrial flooring is preferred, but candidates with strong construction or related trade experience may also be considered.

• Grind and prepare concrete floors prior to epoxy and other floor coating applications
• Remove high spots, ridges, rough areas, existing coatings, and other surface imperfections
• Operate hand and power tools used for concrete grinding, cutting, drilling, and surface preparation
• Clean and prepare concrete surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of floor coatings
• Perform crack, joint, and surface repairs as needed
• Mix and apply multi-component flooring materials according to project specifications
• Spread, level, smooth, and finish flooring materials using hand and power tools
• Wash and treat concrete surfaces using approved chemicals and cleaning methods
• Assist with epoxy, resinous flooring, and other industrial floor coating applications
• Use industrial vacuums and dust-control equipment during grinding and preparation
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow instructions from supervisors and project leads
• Follow all OSHA and company safety requirements
• Maintain a constant focus on safe work practices

• Previous experience in concrete grinding, concrete polishing, epoxy flooring, industrial flooring, surface preparation, or a related construction trade preferred
• Comfortable operating hand and power tools
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working for extended periods
• Ability to work in commercial and industrial environments
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• Strong attendance and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new equipment, materials, and installation techniques

This position pays $20 - $24 an hour, but has the opportunity to make prevailing wage on certain opportunities.

This is a 1st shift, contract-to-hire opportunity

This is an active construction position requiring employees to work on their feet and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Employees may be required to lift and move materials and equipment, operate power tools, work around construction dust and noise, and work in commercial and industrial environments.

A reliable means of transportation is required.
