The Role
The firm is seeking a driven General Liability Defense Attorney to manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution. This individual will provide aggressive advocacy and tailored solutions for corporations, insurers, and local businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage litigation for general liability, automobile, and premises liability matters.
- Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
- Conduct extensive discovery , including taking and defending expert and 30(b)(6) depositions.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and arbitrations throughout South Carolina.
- Prepare for and lead trials , maintaining the firm's standard of courtroom excellence.
- Provide strategic legal analysis and timely reporting to insurance claims representatives.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active License to practice law in South Carolina (North Carolina licensure is a plus).
- Proven Experience in civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense or general liability.
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills with a "trial-ready" mindset.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team.
