What You’ll Do (The Role)
As an Emergency Vehicle Technician, you will be the mastermind behind turning standard vehicles into fully loaded emergency response units. Your day-to-day will include:
- Custom Upfitting: Install advanced emergency lighting, sirens, radios, cameras, and specialized electronics.
- Smart Diagnostics: Use wiring diagrams, schematics, and testing equipment to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Precision Wiring: Run clean, high-quality wiring and integrate complex communication systems.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct routine testing and preventative maintenance to ensure zero-fail reliability on the road.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside a dedicated shop crew and communicate with local agencies to deliver exceptional results.
What We’re Looking For (The Requirements)
We need a detail-oriented professional who is ready to hit the ground running. You will be a great fit if you have:
- Tech Experience: A solid background in automotive electrical systems, vehicle upfitting, or fleet maintenance.
- Diagnostic Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities and the confidence to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Tool Mastery: Proficiency with standard shop hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing gear.
- Professional Standards: A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the physical ability to work comfortably in a busy shop environment.
- An Eye for Detail: A strict commitment to safety, quality, and keeping accurate service records.
