Description
- Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observational strategies.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that align with both immediate and extended communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focused on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise integrated care plans.
- Provide essential education to patients and families to encourage progress outside of clinical interactions.
- Conduct sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless transitions throughout the treatment continuum.
- Maintain precise and timely records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Pursue ongoing education and professional development to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based intervention methodologies for all age groups with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Remarkable interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Adept at modifying therapy methodologies to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation protocols.
