Join Our Team as an RN in Cardiac Med Intermediate Unit - Nights!

Job Description:


- Position: RN
- Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown
- Shift: Nights, 1900-0730
- Assignment Length: 16 weeks
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility/every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Required Licensure: Current RN License in Missouri
- Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
- Preferred Certifications: NIHSS
- Years of Experience: 1 year Cardiac Stepdown
- Patient Ratios: 1:3-1:4
- Unit Size: 32 beds
- Equipment: Chest tubes, Temp Pacemakers, Bipaps
- EMR System: EPIC

Key Responsibilities:


- Utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintain professional accountability in providing care.
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by all direct caregivers.
- Coordinate patient care with other departments to optimize comfort and care.
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality at all times.
- Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards and mission.

Ideal Candidate Profile:


- Must Have Skills/Experience:
- 1 year of experience in Cardiac Stepdown, inpatient only
- Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, Resp. Failure, Chest pain
- Personality Fit:
- Team player who promotes a positive culture

Dress Code:


- Scrub Color: All Black with Mercy Logo on top
- Unacceptable Attire: Hoodies, jackets without Mercy logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, fake nails

Working Conditions:


- Stand and walk most of the time
- Significant bending, stooping, and lifting with assistance as needed
- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
