Summary Promotes and protects individual and community health and safety by conducting inspections of various establishments and water sources to ensure compliance with applicable health codes, regulations, and standards. Knowledge And Skills Ability to effectively communicate and explain complex scientific and public health information to a variety of audiences. Ability to research, interpret, and apply scientific data and information. Knowledge and experience in conducting bacteriological analyses of potable water, swimming pools, and spa water samples. Ability to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with the public, coworkers, and community partners. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related field. One to three years of progressively responsible professional experience in environmental health, laboratory science, public health, or a related field.
