Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
• Responsible for receiving, verifying, and processing incoming merchandise deliveries while supporting Dairy and Grocery Deli department operations through ordering, stocking, rotation, merchandising, and inventory control. Ensures receiving accuracy, product freshness, food safety compliance, and organized backroom operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against invoices and manifests.
• Follow all DSD receiving procedures and company receiving controls.
• Maintain accurate receiving paperwork, credits, and claims documentation.
• Support Dairy and Grocery Deli departments through stocking, ordering, rotation, and merchandising.
• Monitor cooler temperatures, code dates, and product freshness standards.
• Work backstock daily and maintain organized cooler and backroom areas.
• Ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation procedures are followed.
• Maintain clean and organized receiving docks, coolers, freezers, and storage areas.
• Monitor shrink, damages, out-of-dates, and markdown opportunities.
• Follow all food safety, OSHA, and Loss Prevention standards.
• Safely operate pallet jacks, carts, and approved receiving equipment.
• Assist customers and store teams with product questions and operational support when needed.

Qualifications
• Previous grocery receiving, dairy, or retail experience preferred.
• Basic math, inventory, and invoice verification skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload efficiently.
• Understanding of food safety and rotation standards preferred.

Physical Requirements
• Lift and move up to 60 lbs regularly.
• Push/pull pallet jacks, carts, and freight safely.
• Work in refrigerated, freezer, and receiving dock environments.
• Stand/walk for up to 8 hours.
• Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions.

Scheduling Expectations
• Varied schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and delivery days.

• Receiving paperwork completed accurately and on time.
• Dairy and Grocery Deli shrink maintained within company standards.
• Cooler organization and cleanliness standards maintained.
• Product freshness and code date compliance achieved.
• Backroom and receiving areas maintained safely and efficiently.
• Positive teamwork and customer service interactions.
