Job Summary Our Client is hiring an experienced Telecom Designer for a 6–12 month hourly contract-to-hire role. You'll handle end-to-end telecom design for company-wide projects, from initial assessments to construction oversight, ensuring everything aligns with Client's standards and best practices. Local candidates only. Job Title Telecom Designer Location Austin, Texas Duration 12+ Months Key Responsibilities Lead projects independently or guide support staff, providing cross-team assistance. Create detailed drawing packages: site/floor plans, comm room layouts, rack elevations, backbone schematics, and infrastructure details. Handle Division 27 & 28 systems specs, cable pathway fill calculations, and cost estimates. Coordinate designs with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and hardware teams. Perform field surveys during all project phases and verify code compliance. Collaborate in BIM environments using Revit/Navisworks, work with modelers, and support RFIs/submittals. Act as a company-wide technical expert in team settings. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience). RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification. 3+ years as an RCDD. Proficient in Revit, evizto, AutoCAD, and BIM tools.
