Antenna Design Engineer: EM Simulation & Prototyping

Leo Customer Terminal Engineering is looking for an individual who will join our antenna design team. This role is primarily focused on small antenna design across a variety of technologies and device form-factors. You will be responsible for the design, optimization and validation of high performance antennas in a dynamic and fast-paced development environment. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience with mass-production consumer electronics are an asset. A background with EM simulation software (CST, HFSS, FEKO) and experience correlating simulation to measurement results is critical. Key job responsibilities

• EM simulation and modeling to inform expected antenna performance and required antenna volumes.
• Antenna prototyping and correlation of measurement and simulation.
• Element tuning and optimization.
• Antenna location and interoperability assessments to ensure desense free performance.
• Passive and active antenna characterization.
• Compilation of antenna performance reports and presentation to senior leadership.
• Cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, layout, ID, regulatory compliance and PM teams.
• Factory test station and debug support for hardware builds.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools (e.g. Solidworks) to evaluate structural and thermal performance of antenna designs and how these designs will interact with the overall product assembly.
• This role will require travel.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of antenna design related to 3G/4G technologies , Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth products experience
• Knowledge of antenna fundamental and radiation theory EM simulation experience
• Experience with prototyping and implementation
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Antenna and RF test and measurement expertise

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
• Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
