Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Spanner Platform

Make the impact to our biggest Cloud customers with ambiguous challenges to solve at scale.Design and develop features to support future scale, increase resiliency and isolation.Identify future bottlenecks through monitoring, experimenting and other signals and propose solutions.Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and other partner teams to drive holistic solutions, often spanning multiple quarters and requiring cross-team influence and excellent communication skills.Lead architectural changes in a massively distributed system.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.Experience with: Distributed Systems, Backend.Preferred qualifications:Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.Experience programming in C++.Experience with solving problems at scale.Experience with database core concepts, consistency, and isolation.Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.
