Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy. Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy. Assist with placement of artificial airways. Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation. Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify provider, intervening as appropriate in the event of an unintended response. Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients. Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (NBRC‑RRT) for Respiratory Therapist or practitioner. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT / RCP state) certification. Associate degree.
