The Team You Will be Joining

You will be joining an established, collaborative team of 12 professionals dedicated to public health and environmental protection. Operating from a spacious, private front-desk office space, this team handles vital permitting and community inquiries in a fast-paced setting. You can expect supportive daily hands-on training from leadership to ensure your complete success and confidence in the role.

Major Duties

• Welcome 40 to 50 walk-in visitors daily, respond to phone inquiries, and provide information on environmental permits and regulatory programs.
• Enter permit applications, track licenses, and process enforcement activities using specialized agency software.
• Manage front-office administrative logistics including sorting incoming mail, handling correspondence, and processing bank deposits by 3:00 PM.
• De-escalate challenging customer situations with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.

What Are We Looking For?

• At least one year of administrative support, data entry, or public-facing customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort learning new regulatory database systems.
• Proven track record of handling high-volume customer interactions and resolving client issues calmly.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in record-keeping and financial processing.

Exciting Opportunity Details

• Rate: $22.50/hour
• Contract: 6-Month Term (August 17, 2026 – February 17, 2027) with potential to convert to FTE
• Worksite Location: Santa Fe, NM
• Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Onsite (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Other key details: Dedicated staff parking provided; 1-hour lunch break (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
