About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Toxicology for Small Molecules, a pivotal leadership role that will be instrumental in setting the vision and driving the execution of nonclinical safety assessment across a robust research and development pipeline. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading the nonclinical safety and toxicology framework, serving as a critical advisor on multidisciplinary teams, and defining target safety profiles in collaboration with various scientific and clinical colleagues. This role requires a strategic and scientific leader with a strong background in nonclinical safety programs, particularly those supporting small molecule therapies, and a proven track record in regulatory authorship and agency engagement. Applicants for the Head of Toxicology position at the company should hold an advanced degree in toxicology, pharmacology, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 15 years of industry experience in nonclinical safety and toxicology. The role demands a leader with a strong record of success in leading cross-functional teams, influencing development and portfolio strategies, and a deep understanding of regulatory standards. Expertise in pain or neuroscience therapeutic areas is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess visionary leadership, strategic and executional acuity, and excellent communication skills. They should be adept at recruiting, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams, and be prepared to contribute to the evolution of organizational standards and best practices in nonclinical safety.
