Job Description JOB SUMMARY Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) recognize and evaluate sports injuries. They provide first aid or emergency care; develop and carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes; and plan and implement comprehensive programs to prevent injury among athletes. Athletic trainers collaborate with medical doctors to provide emergency and follow-up care. They provide a vital communication link between the injured athlete, the physician, the coach, and the athlete’s family to determine when the athlete can safely return to practice and competition.
