Job Description We are seeking a dynamic professional with strong communication and leadership skills to serve as Chief of Staff. In this key role, you’ll help oversee City departments while acting as the important link between the Mayor, City Council and the community. You’ll exercise conflict management to resolve sensitive issues, serve as the Mayor’s representative in union negotiations and personnel issues, and lead a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, promoting accountability and supporting professional growth. Additionally, you’ll make presentations to various boards and commissions, attend meetings, conferences, and other events out of town and out of state as needed, and serve as key point of contact between the Mayor’s Office and nonprofits, community partners and other governmental agencies. This is an at-will, appointed, full-time position that offers you a variety of benefits, a PERA retirement and an annual salary of $104,225.64 - $151,080.48. Qualifications At least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, or related field Eight years of full-time responsible administrative, executive, or management experience including leadership and supervisory responsibility A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification During employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license Selected candidate must reside within the corporate boundaries of the County of Pueblo, within six (6) months of first date of hire pursuant to Pueblo Municipal Code section 6-4-10 regarding residency requirement Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
