Continue with Google The individual in this position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the Clients/Project Health and Safety Programs and Policies. The safety professional will work directly for the GC. MUST HAVE A DEGREE IN SAFETY OR BCSP CERTIFICATION (e.g., CSP, CIH, ASP, CHST) OR OSHA 500 (current). Also, must be current in First Aid and CPR. Safety Professionals typically plan, lead, and direct the Health and Safety Policies and Procedures at the site or for the client. Job Qualifications Experience in construction safety AND ONE of the following: 1. Degree in safety OR 2. BCSP certifications (CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, STS-C) OR OSHA 500. OSHA 30 and current First Aid/CPR certifications. Ability to conduct daily and weekly safety audits using Pro Core on an iPad. Ability to walk and be on your feet most of the workday. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to enter confined spaces. Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of safety or construction equipment. Valid driver’s license. Must pass pre-employment and criminal background checks. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong planning, time-management, and follow-through skills. Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion. Ability to review, analyze, and discuss safety/risk data. Effective team player and independent worker. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of handling multiple tasks and complex situations. Typical Job Responsibilities Prevent accidents and injuries by maintaining visibility in the field (approximately 70% or more of your time spent "walking jobs"). Develop and deliver Safety Training and New Hire Orientations per federal, state, local, and client requirements. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies. Prevent and reduce employee injuries and illnesses. Lead or assist in accident investigations and return-to-work programs. Perform safety audits daily or weekly based on project needs. Develop, implement, and measure hazard controls and safety programs. Inspire and coach employees to meet safety goals. Maintain confidentiality regarding injuries and claims. Take a proactive approach to claims and injury reduction. Act as liaison for project drug and alcohol testing. Additional duties as required by the client and as skill level increases.
