Job Details Job Location: FL, Ocala – Lowell Correctional Institution Annex – Ocala, FL 34482 Position Type: Full-Time Education Level: Doctoral Degree Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Psychiatrist & Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Overview We are seeking a full‑time Psychiatrist to provide all levels of outpatient services within a state‑of‑the‑art female correctional institution. The psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients and works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, providing clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for female patients within the correctional facility. Work under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director. Provide clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team to deliver behavioral health services. Participate in rotational on‑call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks, providing 7‑day/24‑hour coverage. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of an accredited residency program. Current medical license to practice in Florida. Board certification in psychiatry. Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate. Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification. Background investigation clearance and agency security clearance where applicable. Minimum of two (2) years of clinical practice as a psychiatrist. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience. Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit preferred.
