Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1+ year of ICU experience License: Michigan nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: EKG experience; must be willing to float to similar units Description: The Intensive Care Unit nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill, unstable patients. Duties include managing life-support equipment and titrating complex intravenous drips. Nurses interpret vital signs and perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments. They administer medications and coordinate advanced care with the multidisciplinary medical team. A strict attendance policy is in place, advocating for patient care. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late three times may face termination. Situations such as a communicable disease or hospitalization will be reviewed with supporting evidence. The policy is effective as of June 1, 2024. Preferred qualifications include experience managing ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps. A completed skills checklist within one year of application is required. References are not required. Physical copies of certifications are only necessary if specifically listed. Full-time employees of the organization are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment. Travelers are not eligible for shift incentives and must make up any call-ins within the contract timeframe. Holiday rates apply for specific timeframes on holidays.
