Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (08:00 - 20:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: - Ability to float to pediatric PACU as needed - Willingness to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Description: The registered nurse will support patients undergoing major surgical procedures. The unit caters to a diverse surgical and procedural population, excluding patients requiring critical care services. The nurse will be responsible for pre-operative, phase I, and phase II recovery care for both pediatric and adult patients. The department provides pre/post-operative care to patients across multiple operating rooms. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre-operative and recovery phases. The unit utilizes equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein. The preferred candidate will have a background in PACU or pre/post-operative experience. The patient-to-nurse ratio may range from 1:2 to 1:3. Availability for scheduled weekend shifts is necessary. Emergency scenarios may require the nurse to stay until after the event has passed. Candidates must be comfortable with the possibility of floating to different areas when required. Additional details regarding holiday assignments will be provided based on departmental needs. References may be required for verification. This role is intended for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria and can provide the necessary certifications.
