Pediatrics Physician

Medical Director of Primary Care - College Park, MD Seeking a collaborative and experienced physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Primary Care . This individual will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care while offering direct oversight of the primary care department. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Medical Services , this role is a key partner in advancing an integrated and comprehensive care model.This position is structured to balance clinical practice with 10 Äì20% protected time for leadership and administrative responsibilities. Position Details

• Provide comprehensive primary and acute care services to students, faculty, and staff of the
University of Maryland campus community
• Maintain timely and accurate electronic medical records
• Coordinate with ancillary departments including laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and physical
therapy to optimize diagnostic testing, medication management, and treatment plans
• Provide cross-consultation and collaboration with specialty areas such as GYN, sexual health,
gender-affirming care, and psychiatry
• Directly oversee a team of medical providers, providing mentorship, feedback, and performance
evaluations
• Contribute to peer review processes and implementation of clinical protocols in Primary Care
• Work closely with the Associate Director of Medical Services and Clinic Nurse Manager to ensure
operational effectiveness and high standards of care
• Participate in committees and workgroups to develop programs meeting the evolving needs of a
diverse student body
• Deepen commitment to integrated health by partnering with Psychiatry and Substance Use services
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful work environment
• Support a culture of evidence-based decision-making to ensure equitable care for all students
Qualifications Required
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, or
Adolescent Medicine
• 2+ years of post-residency clinical experience
• Licensed to practice medicine in Maryland or license-eligible by start date
• Board certification required within 1 year of employment
• CDS and DEA registrations required; CPR Certification required
Preferred
• Board certification in Pediatrics (with Adolescent Medicine focus), Family Medicine, or
Internal Medicine
• Minimum 2 years of experience supervising medical providers
• Experience managing a primary care unit in an ambulatory clinical setting
• Experience practicing in a college or student health service environment
• Demonstrated interest in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine
• Strong commitment to student success and supporting young adults navigating healthcare
Position Details
• Full-time, fully in-person
• Designated essential position for campus emergencies
• May require some evening and weekend availability
• Salary range: $249,099 Äì $260,000
