Under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director, the Athletic Trainer provides sports medicine care to student athletes in their respective sports. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The Athletic Trainer works closely and communicates effectively with coaches and staff to ensure smooth operations and care for student athletes, as well as ensuring smooth processes for teams and travel. The Athletic Trainer operates an effective athletic training room and provides exceptional care. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or a related field required. Valid NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer certification. Valid Board of Athletic Trainers certification issued through Oregon Health Authority. Ability to organize work with accuracy and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner. Demonstrated efficiency in medical terminology, medical report taking, and record keeping. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff, parents, employees, and supervisors using tact, discretion and professional judgement. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field. Washington State Wrestling Body Composition Assessor. First Aid/CPR Instructor certified. Bilingual and bicultural skills. Salary and Benefits The Hermiston School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package which includes PERS retirement employer-paid pick-up, tuition reimbursement, and a comprehensive health and benefits package. A full-year contract consists of 208 days, which includes 3 paid holidays. Salary range: $50,000-$70,000 depending upon educational level (Bachelor's or Master's) and previous relevant work experience.
