We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.PreOp Registered Nurse at Memorial Hermann Endoscopy CypressJob Summary: The PreOp RN is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN reports to the Manager of Peri-operative Services.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide attentive and efficient care to patients in the pre-operative phaseConduct comprehensive pre-op assessments, including patient history, medications, and allergiesInitiate IVs, administer medications, and ensure accurate pre-op documentationReinforce pre-operative instructions and provide emotional support to patients and familiesCommunicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure coordinated patient careMaintain compliance with infection control, medication safety, and patient safety standardsEnsure all necessary pre-op documentation and consents are completed before surgeryMonitor and respond to any changes in patient condition prior to surgeryQualificationsMust be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the stateMust be a graduate of an accredited school of nursingMust have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACUPrevious experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferredMust have current BLS, ALS and PALSMust possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patientUnderstanding of aseptic techniques and their implementationAbility to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when neededWho We Are At USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
