Job Title: Warehouse Worker - $17/HR

Job Description

This role involves receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items in a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. You will maintain accurate inventory records, ensure items are stored safely and accessibly, and support smooth warehouse operations through careful handling and documentation of stock.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming stock items, verify quantities, and record data accurately using manual logs or computer systems.
• Count and verify stock items regularly, comparing physical counts with inventory records and investigating or correcting discrepancies.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves or designated storage locations in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
• Store items in an orderly, safe, and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other storage areas.
• Label and mark stock items clearly using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to support a safe and compliant work environment.
• Track and document the use, movement, and any damage of stock items and stock handling equipment.
• Inspect stock items for wear, damage, or defects and promptly report any issues to supervisors.
• Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers as needed.
• Determine appropriate storage methods, identification systems, and stock locations based on item turnover, environmental conditions, and facility capabilities.
• Support packing, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods.
• You will work primarily Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the first week scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m .

Essential Skills

• Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with supervisors and warehouse team members.
• Clear written communication skills to complete records, labels, and inventory documentation accurately.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability to resolve inventory discrepancies and storage issues.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and collaborate with other warehouse staff.
• High attention to detail when counting, labeling, storing, and inspecting stock items.
• Knowledge of relevant warehouse equipment and stock handling tools.
• Understanding of policies, procedures, and strategies that support safe and secure operations for people, data, property, and facilities.
• Proficiency in packing, shipping, and receiving processes.
• Ability to use manual or computer-based systems to record and track inventory.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Canton, MI.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Canton,MI.
