Strategic Finance Senior Manager

The Strategic Finance team at Fastly is looking for a highly analytical, intellectually curious, and strategically minded Senior Manager to help shape the company’s long-term direction. This role is focused on bringing together all elements of Fastly’s P&L, connecting the dots across revenue, expenses, investments, and other financial elements. The role will provide a holistic view and help shape how we tell our financial story to executive leadership, Board and public markets. .

You will partner closely with leadership to evaluate key business questions, develop insights from complex data, and influence decision-making through rigorous analysis and thoughtful storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, turns financial insights into business decisions, has the ability to create structure from complex problems, and takes ownership of high-impact projects from concept to execution.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare Board, Audit, executive leadership, and forecast decks that translate financial performance into clear, actionable narratives
• Own corporate consolidation and P&L roll-up, including administration of Fastly's forecasting system
• Co-lead the month end review of financials, quarterly forecasting process and annual planning cycle
• Partner closely with Accounting to support monthly/quarterly close and to understand any changes that impact forecasting including translating new assumptions, policy updates, and accounting treatment
• Establish robust and repeatable corporate finance processes including timelines, logistics, deliverables etc. and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Actively seek opportunities to improve tools and processes to modernize workflows, increase efficiency, and unlock deeper business insights
• Own the cash forecasting process, partnering closely with Billing Systems, Accounting, Treasury, and SEC reporting
• Lead and coordinate ad hoc projects and analytical requests from executive leadership to translate complex financial and business data into clear actions, risks, and opportunities across a range of topics, such as capital allocation, guidance strategy, etc.

What We're Looking For:

• 8–10+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or related analytic roles, ideally within high-growth technology or SaaS environments
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, and drive toward actionable insights
• Advanced financial modeling skills with experience building flexible, scalable models that support decision-making
• Relentlessly curious, you question everything and hold yourself and those around you accountable to understanding the why behind the data and trendlines
• Self-driven and detail-oriented with an extreme ownership mentality
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, with the ability to bring structure and drive results without clear precedent

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

• Public company reporting, close-process, and audit-support experience
• Prior experience in a SaaS, infrastructure, or high-growth tech environment
• Familiarity with AI/automation tools applied to finance workflows
• Experience with Adaptive Planning and BI/data tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements: This position is based out of Fastly’s San Francisco office. Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $181,220.00 - $217,464.00

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
