Job Title Consulting Utility Forester Location Texarkana, TX / AR Type Full‑Time, Hourly, Monday – Friday, some weekday overnight travel Position Overview Davey Resource Group, a leader in the natural resource, environmental, and forestry consulting industries, helps clients provide a safe and reliable power source through proper vegetation management practices. Job Duties Work with major gas/electric utility system and address its forestry needs Inspect utility rights‑of‑ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property Work with tree crews to ensure understanding and adherence to work prescriptions Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews Qualifications Embraces an outdoor and independent work environment Thrives on adaptation, continual learning and training and is detail oriented Possess knowledge of local tree species and species specific growth rates Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather Great communicator and team player Two or four‑year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science, or a related discipline Clean DMV driving record Ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle on rough roads Ability to travel overnight when necessary Minimum of 1 year of utility vegetation management experience or similar experience in a related field (tree work industry, landscape professional) What We Offer $18 – 27 per hour (dependent on experience, education and certifications) Group health plans Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance Life insurance Paid parental leave 401(k) with up to a 4% company match Employee Stock Purchase Plan: Opportunity to buy company stock at a 15% discount Holidays and paid time off Payroll savings plan Charitable matching gift program Employee referral bonus program Employee educational scholarship Davey Family Scholarship 20% discount on all Davey services Cell phone discounts Vehicle purchase discount program Additional Information At Davey, our values are Safety, Integrity, Expertise, Leadership, Stewardship, and Perseverance.
