Practice Manager

The Practice Manager owns scaled Managed Services delivery for TGS's GenAI work on our largest account data annotation, model evaluation, and AI training/localization. This is an operating role first: you are accountable for the people, quality, and throughput of GenAI delivery pods running at enterprise scale thousands of annotation and evaluation tasks daily and for connecting that delivery engine to the AI Data Practice's innovation pipeline (PIMO/FDE) and the account's broader commercial value story. You will operate inside a fast-scaling account that is actively building out mature operating rhythms so comfort with ambiguity, hands-on process-building, and direct people leadership matter as much as AI/GenAI domain knowledge. This role sits within Technical Operations the SME-led, outcome-owned delivery function for TGS-directed teams on the account and works in close, day-to-day partnership with the AI Data Practice (PIMO/FDE), and the other delivery functions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Scaled AI Delivery Leadership Own day-to-day management of a portfolio of GenAI delivery pods spanning data annotation, model evaluation, and AI training/localization work, ensuring throughput, quality, and SLA targets are met at scale. Manage a multi-layered delivery team Technical Program Managers and Prompt Engineer specialists within TGS's SME-led, outcome-owned Managed Services model. Monitor pod health across the portfolio and step in directly on at-risk engagements, staffing gaps, or quality escalations. Quality & Continuous Improvement Own the quality framework for your pods pairing quantitative ratings with qualitative observation Drive root-cause analysis and process improvement that protects and grows GP and captures compounding efficiency gains as pods scale. Delivery Practice Partnership Partner closely with the AI Data Practice's PIMO (product/intake) and FDE (forward-deployed engineering) pods on a continuous improvement roadmap that reflects real delivery constraints, capacity, and opportunity. People Leadership in a Fast-Scaling Environment Directly manage performance, coaching, and career development for TPMs, and prompt engineers, in a role and career-path structure that is still maturing. Handle day-to-day HR and personnel matters with discretion and pace, partnering with Leadership on anything requiring escalation. Commercial & Value Storytelling Forecast utilisation for the delivery scope you own, and feed accurate operational data and other value-story initiatives that quantify the business impact of AI annotation and model evaluation work for our client. Support Sales & Leadership on SOW conversations with ground-truth delivery capacity and capability data. Automation & Scaled Readiness Identify and drive automation opportunities that reduce manual overhead across your pods Contribute delivery expertise to the agentic programme as it moves from pilot to scale, ensuring anything built is client-independent, reusable TGS IP. Governance & Client Stakeholder Management Align with PMO & Operations on risk, budget, and timeline governance across owned engagements, and participate in account-wide business review and planning cadences. Serve as a trusted day-to-day point of contact for client stakeholders on the workstreams you own, translating technical delivery status into business-relevant updates. QUALIFICATIONS Education Education Level Details Required Preferred Bachelor's Degree BA/BS in a related field (technical, data, or business) X Master's Degree MS/MBA a plus, particularly technical or business-focused X Work Experience Type Req Pref Leading delivery or practice functions within an AI/IT services, consulting, or BPO environment X Direct experience with GenAI/AI data operations data annotation, RLHF, model evaluation, or similar X Managing large, distributed teams (50100+ FTEs/contractors) through rapid headcount growth X Building process, quality frameworks, and reporting in ambiguous or immature operating environments X Forecasting revenue, margin, and utilisation; building the commercial case for delivery investment X Supporting a Big Tech or similarly complex, high-velocity enterprise client X Familiarity with the evolving GenAI landscape LLM evaluation methods, prompt engineering, agentic tooling X Navigating matrixed reporting lines and cross-functional dynamics (Sales / Practice / Delivery) X Skills and Abilities Comfortable operating with more ambiguity than a mature (Level 3+) organisation would have able to build the operating model while running it. High EQ; handles frequent, sensitive personnel and HR-adjacent situations directly, quickly, and with discretion. Equally credible going deep with engineers on technical delivery detail and reframing that work for a client business review. Strong bias to action; owns outcomes without waiting for perfect process to exist first. Skilled cross-functional operator works fluidly across Practice, Managed Services, PMO, and Sales without clean lane lines. Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable running or contributing to client-facing business reviews.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
