Job description:

5-10+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment in a highly controlled, compliance-driven industry (experience in medical device products strongly preferred). Demonstrated expertise in process engineering within established production environments. Strong background in sustaining engineering and manufacturing support.

Duties:

• Serve as the primary engineering escalation point for day-to-day production challenges, including yield variation, process deviations, and supplier-related nonconformances.
• Drive data-based problem-solving initiatives to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and minimize rework.
• Lead structured root cause investigations using methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, A3, or similar frameworks.
• Analyze process performance using statistical methods (Cp/Cpk, GR&R, trend analysis, regression, hypothesis testing).

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees
• Proficiency with statistical software tools such as Minitab (or equivalent).
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, and Customer-facing teams to address field issues, product performance concerns, and design-related feedback.
• Strong understanding of process controls, inspection methods, and manufacturing documentation systems.
• Experience contributing to risk management and design transfer activities (DFMEA, PFMEA, CTQ development).
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), including understanding of tolerance stack-up impacts and manufacturing trade-offs.
