Warehouse Lead

Description

As the Warehouse Lead you will assist with the organization, training, and scheduling of staff on a single shift in the Warehouse. This position assists Warehouse Supervisors with order accuracy, receiving of pallets, productivity levels, and facility maintenance. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with other departments on shipping, receiving, and warehousing needs, performing Warehouse Shipping Clerk duties as needed, and communicating concerns with department leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily warehouse operations in the Supervisor's absence-overseeing order filling, product rotation, and cross-department communication to keep the shift on track.
  • Operate and maintain the computerized inventory system; train staff on proper use, ensure data accuracy, and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Escalate and resolve order/truck issues by communicating proactively with department leadership and providing timely updates.
  • Ensure a clean, dry, cool, pest-free storage environment through scheduled sanitation, preventative maintenance, GMP audits, leadership walk-throughs, and documented corrective actions.
  • Schedule, mentor, and train Warehouse team members-driving onboarding, skill development, real-time coaching, accountability, and compliance with meal/rest policies.
  • Foster a collaborative, improvement-focused culture by encouraging problem-solving, gathering team ideas, and proposing efficiency and workflow optimizations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and sanitation activities as scheduled or as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other mobile equipment.
  • One year of experience in a warehouse environment with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Experience leading process improvements, training programs, and production workflow optimizations.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, GMP compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively guide and support team members, ensuring a skilled and engaged workforce.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
