Pay: $19.59 per hour Schedule: Monday – Friday | 3:00 pm -11:00pm Find Your Fit at Falk School! Falk School is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to join our Facilities team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment for our students and staff. In this role, you'll perform a variety of custodial and building maintenance tasks throughout the school, including daily cleaning, floor care, building upkeep, and monitoring the safety and security of school facilities. Why Join the Falk School Facilities Team Full-time, 40-hour-per-week position Supportive and team-oriented work environment Work that directly contributes to a safe and welcoming school community Opportunities to develop facilities and building-maintenance skills Make a visible impact every day Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning and custodial duties throughout classrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, and other school spaces Clean and maintain windows, furniture, walls, floors, fixtures, and other surfaces Operate and maintain floor-care equipment, including equipment used for stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors Identify cleaning and maintenance concerns and take appropriate action or report issues as needed Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming school environment Monitor the security of school buildings and grounds, including ensuring doors and windows are properly secured Inspect and monitor electrical appliances and equipment for potential safety hazards Follow established operational procedures, safety requirements, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment Work collaboratively with the Custodian Team Lead, Facilities team, school staff, and administration Assist with additional custodial and facilities-related needs as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Knowledge of general cleaning methods, equipment, and procedures Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Understanding of workplace hazards and appropriate safety precautions Strong reliability, punctuality, and attendance Ability to communicate and work effectively with school staff Previous custodial, janitorial, facilities, or commercial cleaning experience preferred Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Walking extensively throughout school buildings and grounds Frequently standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling Climbing stairs and ladders and accessing maintenance areas Frequently lifting, carrying, moving, pushing, and pulling equipment, furniture, supplies, and materials, generally up to 50 pounds Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Working around cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, machinery, and maintenance equipment Safely operating custodial equipment, ladders, tools, and other equipment while following required safety procedures Falk School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
