Fusion Medical Staffing – Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU for a 13‑week travel assignment in Moberly, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12‑hour nights Employment Type: Travel Essential Work Functions Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle clinical changes. Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical‑care nursing techniques. Operate and manage advanced life‑support equipment. Ensure patient safety and comfort in high‑acuity ICU environments, addressing physical and emotional needs. Document significant conditions, reactions, and interventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes in patient status. Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters. Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards. Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations. Communicate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care. Maintain proficiency in critical‑care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training. Adhere to strict infection‑control protocols to protect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks. Engage in quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection‑control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an ICU RN. Valid RN license in compliance with Missouri state regulations. Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications. Preferred Qualifications Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification. TNCC or NIHSS certification. Additional certifications or licenses relevant to ICU practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and basic PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skill to work effectively with a variety of personnel in a hospital setting. Technical/motor skill to perform fine manipulation and assist with procedures. Mental resilience to cope with frequent contact with patients, meet deadlines under pressure, and handle irregular schedules. Sensory acuity to visualize and communicate effectively.
