Pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Hours: Approximately 13–15 hours per week

First Choice Personal Care and Living Solutions is seeking a dependable, compassionate caregiver for a consistent daytime assignment with a senior client in the 46222 area of Indianapolis.

This is a great opportunity for a caregiver looking for steady supplemental hours without evenings or weekends. The client is pleasant, values her independence, and primarily needs assistance with staying safe, active, and comfortable in her home.

Current Schedule

• Monday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
• Friday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  

Approximately 13 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours based on client needs and availability.

About the Assignment

This client does not require routine bathing or toileting assistance. She is able to complete many of her personal care activities independently but may need occasional assistance with tasks that are difficult due to mobility limitations.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide companionship and social interaction
• Assist with dressing as needed, particularly clothing over the feet and legs
• Provide occasional assistance with hard-to-reach personal hygiene, such as washing her back
• Provide standby assistance with safe mobility
• Accompany and supervise client while walking laps in her apartment hallway as tolerated
• Encourage safe activity and independence
• Prepare simple meals
• Encourage hydration
• Provide medication reminders
• Complete light housekeeping and laundry
• Assist with grocery shopping and errands as needed
• Maintain clear and safe walking pathways
• Observe for changes in the client's condition and promptly report concerns
• Complete required caregiver documentation at the end of each shift

• Encouraging without taking away the client's independence
• Comfortable assisting a client who uses a walker/rollator
• Able to commit consistently to the scheduled days and times
• A good communicator with the client, family, and agency
  

Requirements
High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to commute consistently to Indianapolis, IN 46222
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Current TB screening or willingness to obtain
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to assignment
• Previous caregiving, home care, CNA, HHA, senior care, or related experience preferred
